Hey everyone, my name is Alonzo. I am the owner of our lovely sweet girl Athena. She has been one of the very best things to ever happen to me my entire life. Athena is a 8 year old super funny and playful pittie. She puts a smile on anyones face she comes in contact with and she’s realllllyy hard not to love. Me and my girlfriend are new first time parents and completed our family with our newborn baby boy in feb 2022. I could not wait for Athena to meet my kids when that time came and I was so happy to have that happen. In the beginning of May we noticed some unusual symptoms with our girl. We noticed that she was losing balance and falling over. These past few weeks her symptoms have not been improving. We have been in and out of the emergency vet with her for two weeks now which has gotten super costly ($180 just to be seen each visit not including any medications or tests that she’s needed). Appointments were also not an option for any other testing they recommended because they are super booked out, so we would have to take her for extra emergency visits to get them done each time. Today Athena had a seizure so we made another emergency vet visit to see if we can get some clearer answers. It’s confirmed she has cancer. If we treat with medication we don’t know how much longer we have with our baby girl. It’s breaks our hearts to think we cannot give her the very best option and chance at a great and healthy life. She had never been sick her entire life and her vets continue to say how unremarkable all of her testing is besides this 1 new finding. We have the option to get this cancer surgically removed to get rid of it completely and so that it will not spread. This will get rid of the cancer for Athena to go back to her normal routine and to live her happy active lifestyle. They say the sooner the better! Financially that is not an option we can choose with out the help of our family friends and any kind supporters willing to help Athena. All funds will be used towards any future vet visits, Athena’s surgery, hospital stay, & medications through her healing. We appreciate any help we get and we thank you all so so much, more than we can ever express.
