My cattle dog Athena is just two and a half years old and recently got seriously sick. She had seizures and had to be hospitalized overnight, which cost me $2,000. Bloodwork from both the ER and my vet shows she likely has a liver shunt. If left untreated, her condition will get worse. The surgery she needs is around $5,000, but before they'll even do it, she has to get a CT scan—that's another $2,000. EDIT: WE ACHIEVED THIS

Athena had her liver shunt confirmed, and surgery is expensive. Surgeons are not available everywhere, and the closest to me is the A&M University. I was told about $15,00 all-in would get her surgery performed and back home.

The odds of surgery arent amazing, about a 50% shot to be back to "normal" and some similar percent chance, nothing happens. A3% chance she dies on table, due to complications.

I have overhauled her diet, and medicating her for now. If given the opportunity, I would like to give her a shot with the surgery.
