Hi, everyone- I don’t even know where to begin.
This morning at 12:30AM, I came home expecting Atari, my 3 1/2 year old dachshund, to run to the door to greet and jump on me as she usually does. When that didn’t happen, I immediately knew something was wrong.
I quickly discovered that she had lost function of both hind legs. She was shaking, trying her hardest not to whimper, but clearly in an immense amount of pain.
I rushed her to a 24hour emergency animal hospital where x-rays and tests were performed. Atari has Intervertebral Disc Disease, otherwise known as IVDD.
Atari’s medical bills are estimated at $10,000. This cost covers necessary MRI’s, the surgical procedure, and any medications needed to manage pain and inflammation once surgery is completed.
As a dog mom who has spent the past three and a half years feeding her nothing but organic, making sure she’s always safe, and making sure she’s always at the vet for regular check-ups, this is a tough pill to swallow.
I am humbly asking for any donations as 100% of them will all go toward Atari’s care during this time.
Please share Atari’s story, something as simple as a share can make the greatest impact.
Thank you
