Help Asylum-Seeking Family Recover from Emergency Expense
Donation protected
Help support an asylum-seeking family, new to the US, who recently had an emergency that drained their savings.
Mary has been working with an asylum-seeking family in Albuquerque for almost a year and a half through a local nonprofit, as they acclimate to life here. This family of four arrived from Venezuela in January 2023. Even though this family has legal status in the US through their asylum applications, because of recent events, we are keeping their information and situation private. If you need more information to be encouraged to support them, please reach out to Mary or Trey!
This family has settled in Albuquerque after fleeing Venezuela, and they have become part of the community, working and saving their money for a better future. Unfortunately, an emergency related to one of their two children required payments of $6,800, which consumed all their available funds, required assistance from friends and family, and put significant stress on their finances.
We are looking for $6,800 to help this family rebuild their savings, as well as repaying any loans or emergency funds given by those who stepped in to help cover the emergency. We want to show this family we support them as a community by fundraising this money they had to unexpectedly spend.
If 100 people donate $50, we would be almost 75% to our goal. We appreciate any amount you are able to give. Shares and words of support are also greatly appreciated.
