Help Asuna

Hi this is our dog Asuna she is turning 6 this coming May. 

 

Unfortunately she has become very sick and has had two seizures this year and we have yet to determine what may be the cause of it.

 

We rushed her to the animal hospital and there they ran tests like blood work, urine sample, and ultrasound.

 

The conditions of Asuna are much worse than we thought and the medical bill just for running diagnostics and keeping her stable is overwhelming.

 

Her blood sugar and protein levels are dangerously low, her white blood cell count is very high, and she has inflammation in the intestines and the pancreas. The pancreas appears abnormal to what usual inflammation looks like as well, and the vet predicts this could be either because of a growth/tumor, or a blood clot (meaning seizures or stroke too).

 

Because her vitals are so low, she cannot undergo further testing she needs (scope, biopsy) to better figure out what’s going on, as she would need to go under anaesthesia, and it’s too dangerous for her to do so.

 

Right now she is in the ICU and the vet is trying to get her stabilized, and she may have to undergo steroid treatment to help her protein absorption. She’s not allowed visitors during this time (COVID protocols).

 

We’d appreciate any help or support you are able to give for her, not only for later diagnostic costs but at least to help her stabilize and just come home.

 

The vet gave no guarantee on chances of stabilization, and informed us that she may have a condition that she will have to live with for the rest of her life. We want her home so badly, and we also don’t want her to suffer in pain if her conditions do not improve in the ICU. She doesn’t deserve to suffer and we want her to be at home with family where she is comfortable, as much as possible and for as long as possible, instead of being scared and alone without us at the hospital.

 

Any donations given will be used for the medical bill to keep her stabilized up until this point and: (1) for the best at home care we can give her; (2) further diagnostics if she does stabilize and get strong enough to do biopsy, or; (3) a potential end of life treatment if she is suffering too much
