Hi, my name is Harriet, and I’m the proud parent of a beautiful little girl named Astrid.

Astrid has faced more challenges in her young life than most of us will in a lifetime. She was diagnosed with Grade 3 HIE (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy) at birth, and since then she has been living with a number of complex medical conditions, including:

• Cerebral Palsy (CP)

• Dystonia

• Epilepsy

• Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)

• Sensorineural Hearing Loss

• Bilateral Hip Dysplasia

…and other difficulties that impact her daily life.

Despite these challenges, Astrid is full of light, strength, and determination. She continues to surprise us with her resilience, and she deserves every opportunity to reach her fullest potential.

One way we can help Astrid is through Conductive Education — a specialized approach that supports children with neurological and mobility challenges. These classes focus on building independence, improving motor skills, and helping children like Astrid participate more fully in everyday life.

Unfortunately, these classes are not funded, and the cost of attending even once per week is more than our family can manage alone. That’s why we are reaching out for help.

The Cost:

• £28 covers one class

• £86.34 covers one month (approx. 3 classes)

• £364 covers one full term (approx. 13 classes)

Every single donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Even £28 can give Astrid an entire session of support that helps her grow stronger and more independent.

Our Hope for the Future:

While our first goal is to fund Astrid’s weekly Conductive Education sessions, in the future we would also love for her to access private physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions. These therapies would work alongside her conductive education to build strength, ease discomfort, and give her the best chance to thrive.

Our Fundraising Goal:

To give Astrid consistent access to these life-changing opportunities, we are hoping to raise £4,100. This will cover:

• A full year of weekly Conductive Education classes (£1,456)

• Regular private physiotherapy sessions (£1,440)

• Hydrotherapy sessions to support her comfort and mobility (£1,200)

This combination of therapies would make a huge difference in Astrid’s quality of life, helping her grow stronger, more independent, and more comfortable day to day.
