Help Aspen Qualles Bring "Stormy Weather" to Life!

My name is Aspen Qualles. I am a filmmaker, I’m in my sophomore year, and I’m a film major and creative writing minor at Syracuse University.

I am a screenwriter and director from North Brookfield, Massachusetts, currently in the process of pursuing a B.F.A. in Film and Media Arts at Syracuse University. I primarily work in narrative fiction as well as small-scale documentary.

I am raising funds for my final film this year, Stormy Weather.

About the Film

Senator Patrick Moore is a state senator in early 60s Georgia. He is a member of the Republican Party and is currently running for reelection. Back in college, in a drunken state, he spent the night with a Black woman and ended up impregnating her. This was a secret he told no one about, and after many years, his daughter was neglected. Now, almost 20 years later, after his wife became pregnant with their first girl, Moore finds out that a young Black girl was allegedly kidnapped. Moore learns that the girl was, in fact, his secret daughter, Etta. Moore must make sure Etta is safe without letting all of Georgia know who she is. He will eventually have to choose between his daughter and his political dream.
