Aspen's story
This is hard for me because I am usually the one that tries to help others. I found this on market place and would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
We have called every place and tried every type of bed, doctors have sent Medical Letters of Necessity but they are just no longer being covered by wv medaid insurance at all. Most private insurances aren’t covering them now either. It’s to the point no where in WV is even carrying the beds. Don’t ask me how they can refuse multiple doctors sending letters of medical necessity.. makes no sense to me. I’d love to know how they expect us to keep our kids safe without one. They cost $7000.00 plus if you private pay.
Aspen struggles with sensory processing: textures, sounds, smells and visuals. *she loves soft and rainbow colors.
She peels paint down to the drywall and consumes said paint and drywall. Which means she’ll pick at anything she can get ahold of and it’s more than likely going in her mouth. Aspen is an eloper and could be the next houdini so the bed would need to be able to safely keep her in at night. She also has severe meltdowns that result in self injury and damage to property. She is extremely strong and doesn’t realize most of the time, how much strength she’s using. She also loves to throw items. Only soft things have been allowed in her room for a while. All in all Aspen really can’t be left unsupervised for any amount of time for her safety. Having a bed or something to keep her contained to a smaller area within her room and safe at night would be life changing for her.
Right now Aspen has not been able to be in her room and have her own space especially to sleep for almost a month now. Sleep is slim and I know she misses her space and independence. I want to give that back to her ASAP.
