Greetings! My name is Aspen Everett and I am a performance poet living in Boulder Colorado. I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime, to participate in a publishing program with the Community Literature Initiative based in Denver. Out of the many who applied, I was one of 12 chosen! The catch is, I can't afford it. The class is $250 a month for 10 months, for a total of $2,500. As a full-time single parent living well below the poverty line in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S., any extra expense is just out of my budget. Poverty should not be a barrier to creativity. This class would allow me the opportunity to publish my first full length book of poetry while learning the ins and outs of publishing. My goal is to use this knowledge to start a small press of my own to provide more publishing opportunities to my local poetry community. Will you please help me on this journey?
