My name is Asmaa Atta , and I am a 42-year-old Palestinian from Gaza City who is the mother of three children. As a result of 182 days of war in Gaza, which included destruction, attacks, bombing, displacement, and homelessness.

I'm launching a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help us evacuate from Gaza to a safer location. Our lives are in grave danger, having lost everything in this ongoing war and having lost my father and cousins. Our home was destroyed, and my husband lost his job, leaving us with no shelter for the past six months. With no money, food, water, shelter, or access to hospitals, schools, or universities, our only hope is to seek safety. We kindly ask for your assistance in raising the necessary funds to secure our evacuation. Every dollar counts, and your support means the world to us.

The living conditions in Gaza have reached unprecedented levels, with basic necessities becoming scarce. The ongoing war has devastated our once thriving city, leaving thousands homeless and in desperate need of assistance. Our home was destroyed, and we have been living in a with no shelter for the past six months. This situation left us feeling trapped and afraid for our lives.

After my family was displaced four times from the northern part of Rafah by the occupation, we currently live in an uninhabitable tent, unfit for drinking water, and completely devoid of services under bombardment, killing, and massacres.

It was two months after the war that I lost my father and I had not even been able to say goodbye to him and see him for the last time as a result of war and displacement after he had been living in the streets. He had a cancer and had undergone an open heart surgery two days prior to the war but was unable to reach a hospital before he died.

With the loss of our home, the loss of our loved ones, and the increasing danger we face in Gaza, our only option is to evacuate to a safe location. However, we have no means to finance this journey. The estimated cost for evacuation is approximately $80,000 CAD. This amount will cover travel expenses, temporary accommodation, and the necessary resources to ensure our well-being during this difficult time.

Due to my health problems and diseases (diabetes and high blood pressure), chest pain, and shortness of breath, I am unable to afford treatment, which costs approximately $200 per month. Due to my husband's loss of his employment and the fact that we have no source of income to meet our needs, we have lost everything. Our home has been destroyed, and we only have our clothing to wear.

The oldest of my children, Fouad, a 22-year-old who has completed his studies majoring in electronic device maintenance, and Aseel, 19, completed her high school education, and has dreamed of a career that would enable her to enter and succeed in the labor market. Due to the war, she is not permitted to attend university, and I have a daughter who is also 14 years old who studies at school, and was also not able to complete the school year because of the war. In the country, there are no schools, universities, hospitals, or any significant infrastructure that is fit for life, healthy, or humane. Life is very difficult here, and the only way to survive is to find a way to leave. We are trying to find a way to get our daughters out of the country and to safety. We are hoping to be able to secure a better future for them

Without clothing or food, and without any belongings, we left as we were, hoping that we would be able to return home in two days. There were no warnings that the war would continue for long months. Half a year of displacement, fear, terror, and insecurity, without shelter or refuge, and we could hardly find food to eat. An individual and a family cannot be adequately fed with one meal per week during this war. We left our house under the sounds of bombing, destruction, and shell fire due to the war in Gaza Strip.

As a result of the war, my children have lost many close friends and relatives, which has affected their mental wellbeing. Therefore, we are compelled to search for a safe area to live away from Gaza and the war

The anxiety and fear I feel for my family causes me not to sleep at night or stop thinking about them

I appeal to you to help us leave Gaza City, which has become a ghost town, but I am unable to go out with my family because I do not have any money to assist me with my departure from the Strip.

In order for my family and I to be able to leave the Gaza Strip and move to Egypt so that we can begin a safe life , so that my husband and children can find employment to support the family, and so that my daughters may attend university and school, as we wish to obtain residency in any country so that we may begin a new life from scratch

Leaving Gaza for Egypt costs $5,000 per person, so the total coordination amount is 5*5 (25,000) US dollars. 

Additionally, we need a minimum of 24,000 US dollars per month as monthly expenses in the city of Cairo for two years so that we can gather our fate and cover basic needs such as food, water and clothing.  

The cost of my monthly treatment for the disease I suffer from is approximately $200*12=1200 dollars 

Since we only have the clothes we wear, we require special needs, including clothing, food, and other necessities, at an approximate cost of $5,000. 

For road transportation to Cairo, the cost is $600

As a result, the total amount required is at least 57,800 US dollars and approximately 80,000 Canadian dollars.

                                                

In spite of the fact that I am ashamed to ask, the world and the situation here have forced me to do so, and I hope that you will help me reach safety along with my family, or find someone who will adopt these children, or assist us in obtaining a job and residence opportunity or a scholarship for my children to complete their education, or find them a job opportunity or sponsor them
