Help Aslyn in her fight against Cancer

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I never imagined I’d be writing these words, but my younger sister, Aslyn, is facing the biggest battle of her life. While she is fighting with everything she has, the road ahead is long and uncertain.

In November of 2024, Aslyn went to the doctor due to not feeling well. She was lethargic and had swelling in her abdomen/legs. The doctor in charge of Aslyn's care at the time barely looked her over and gave her an incorrect diagnosis of "insufficient veins". As her abdomen and legs continued to swell, she became more and more weak overtime. The swelling became so extreme that it caused an umbilical hernia.

On February 19th, Aslyn's partner Ian encouraged her to get a second opinion. During that visit they discovered that she had multiple blood clots in her legs, a large blood clot in her lung, necrotic fluid in her abdomen, and a mass in her ovary. The blood clot in her lung was causing swelling to her heart. The doctors stated that if the blood clots were to continue going untreated, she would have had about a week to live.

On February 21st, the doctors performed the first surgery of many to remove the blood clot in her lung, place a filter for the other blood clots, and drain the necrotic fluid from her abdomen. Since then, Aslyn has undergone multiple procedures, including removing her appendix and ovary. The tumor itself was so large that it stretched across her abdomen to her liver. The doctors stated it was larger than a football and significantly heavier.

Aslyn has now been diagnosed with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer, and while she is determined to beat this, the emotional and financial toll is immense. The misdiagnosis delayed crucial treatment, making her battle even more challenging. The blood clots in her legs will require her to inject anticoagulant drugs into the little amount of fat that she has left on her body for at least 6 months, while she will also start chemo in the next 4 weeks (after she has healed from her last surgery). Despite it all, Aslyn remains hopeful, leaning on the love of her family, friends, and her partner, Ian.

Her treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays have created a significant financial burden. Medical bills are piling up, and she needs all the support she can get to continue receiving the care she desperately needs. We are asking for donations to help cover her medical expenses, treatments, and daily living costs so she can focus entirely on healing.

Even the smallest contribution makes a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing Aslyn’s story and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. Your love, support, and generosity mean the world to us.

Aslyn is not just my sister—she’s a daughter, the best auntie, and a friend. She has always been the one to lift others up in their hardest moments. Now, it’s our turn to lift her up.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Aslyn in her fight. We believe in her strength, and with your help, we know she can overcome this.

With love and gratitude,
