Help Asian Woman Compete in Miss CA USA
Donation protected
I've been waiting some time to share this, but I am competing for Miss California USA as your Miss Pacific Heights USA, representing San Francisco.
The Miss California USA pageant is the most well-known pageant. This competition advances to Miss USA and then to Miss Universe.
Why am I doing this?
There are 3 main reasons.
(1) Asian American representation is critical in this day and age. You don't see faces like mine in pageants. In fact, it's very rare to see Asian Americans compete in the Miss USA system. Especially with the rise in hate crimes against the Asian community, I am competing in this pageant because I want to normalize faces like mine. I am here to represent the Asian community.
(2) My hope is to reach a wider audience with my platform. When competing in this pageant, it's important to have a genuine reason for "why do I want to be Miss California USA?" My reason is two-fold. First, I want to further gender parity on Wall Street. I've been committed and passionate about this mission since 2015 when I created my non-profit, Redefine Her Street (redefineherstreet.com). This organization is aiming to create the LARGEST undergraduate women's network GLOBALLY. By educating and encouraging young women to start their careers in finance, our hope is to start closing the gender gap. The second part to my platform is that a woman can be both brains and beauty. I can be both intelligent and dream to run a Fortune 500 on day, while also being able to look my best. There is NOTHING WRONG with that.
(3) Lastly, I am doing this competition for myself. I want to be able to look back, and tell my children one day, if you dream it, you can do it.
Why did I start a GoFundMe?
I need YOUR help to fundraise my way to competing in this pageant. It takes time, effort, and money to be successful in this competition. Make my dreams come true by financially supporting me.
