Asian Expression - Fight Hate Crime, Help Seniors
Donation protected
Violence is alarming and help is not distributed equally. Asians have long been known as a model minority of being good and quiet. Unfortunately, that association has made us become the subject of abuse and violence. We heard enough stories, we feel enough pain, we need to speak up, unite and act to protect each other!
HOW WE HELP
Asian Expression was founded to provides essential aid to our community, support and promote Asian Community Organizations. We're donating 250,000 face masks to help Asian American Seniors and other Asian vulnerable groups to fight hate crime and covid.
Our goal:
- allocate enough face masks to those Asian American Seniors care and Asian community services organizations.
- helps to share the expense with these Asian communities' organizations
- and together we will be able to provide help to more people
IMPACT
Over 35,000 masks have been donated and we will continue to donate as long as the community has the need. Our mask donations protect our community in many meaningful programs:
- Seniors patients at Asian senior care organizations
- Covid test and vaccinations for thousands of our Asian population
- In-person medical care and covid related service for the most vulnerable Asian community members
- Asian mental health community services
- Food and masks deliveries to low-income API families
- Anti-hate community projects

100% of the donation will go towards purchasing and delivering face masks.
WHY WE DONATE
While Asian Americans face anti-Asian violence, Asian communities (local senior care, community outreach organizations, etc.) receive fewer donations than the larger ones (Kaiser, Sutter Health, Red Cross), especially face masks during Covid 19. We are making sure our Asian organizations receive the help they need, we want to focus our help on the ones who need it most.
Violence is alarming:
An 83-year-old Vietnamese-American was brutally knocked to the ground and his neck is now broken in several places
An 84-year-old Thai-American Vicha Ratanapakdee was smashed to the pavement and died of his injuries
and so much more.
But help is not distributed equally. Multiple local senior cares and healthcare organizations have been asking for help:
"...our low-income populations already don't have a lot of resources. With the pandemic, a lot of them lost jobs, housing... we've seen a surge of demand for our services. We're trying to help them as much as we can, but our resources are also limited..."
"We would greatly appreciate any and all PPE donations for our staff and residents. We don’t have the same connections as the hospitals and can use all the help we can get. Stay safe and thank you for your time and consideration."
We can work together and show the world we are there for each other!

Asian Expression was founded to support and promote Asian Community Organizations. Just over a month, we have been working with over 20 organizations to support our vulnerable Asian populations, supporting anti-hate crime rallies and letting our voices be heard.
Asian Expression takes a step further towards action and provides essential aid to our community. Our current priority is to rapidly provide 250,000 masks for our Asian Seniors and other vulnerable members of our community.
