Help Rayan Find his way to Safety
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Deem, I use they/them pronouns, I am a trans refugee living in Canada and I know firsthand the struggles of fleeing persecution, but today, I’m here to ask for your help for my dear friend, Rayan.
Asia is a 23-year-old queer man living in Egypt, where his life is in constant danger. Rayan is HIV-positive but cannot access the correct medication due to discriminatory healthcare policies in Egypt. His health is deteriorating, and without proper treatment, the situation is critical.
But Rayan's challenges go beyond his health. He has faced unimaginable hardships. He survived severe abuse at 18 years of age, that led him to flee his family home after his brothers violently attacked him for being gay. Rayan is continuesling fleeing persecution, as an LGBTQIA+ person, Rayan's existence is criminalized in Egypt.
Rayan has tried seeking refuge in other countries like the UAE and Rwanda but was forced to return to Egypt, the only place she could afford, despite its dangers.
Now, Rayan's plan is simple. To leave Egypt and travel to a country where he can access life-saving HIV care and seek protection as a refugee through the UNHCR. But this journey is only possible with your help.
Your donations will give a chance at a safe, dignified life. Specifically, the funds will help her:
- Travel to Thailand.
- Access HIV medication and proper healthcare.
- Sustain herself while she seeks refugee status and safety through the UNHCR.
Our goal is to rebuild his life in a place where he can thrive, free from fear and persecution. Every dollar counts.
Together, we can ensure she gets the care and safety she deserves.
Thank you for reading. I will provide updates on Rayan's journey and proof of all fund transfers to ensure transparency.
Please donate, share, and help us create a better future for Rayan.
With gratitude,
Deem
