Ashton was my cousin, and he faced a hard hand in life. Despite the love and support around him, he felt that this was the only choice he had left to make. His passing has left a deep void in our family, especially for his grandmother, who is now raising his teen siblings alone. Ashton lived with her for a while a couple years ago, and she has always done her best to provide a safe and loving home for all the kids, even while managing on a limited monthly income.

Now, without any insurance to help, Ashton’s grandmother is faced with the overwhelming challenge of paying for his cremation at James H. Davis Funeral Home. On top of her grief, she is trying to find a way to cover these unexpected expenses while still caring for the rest of the children. It’s a burden that no one should have to face alone, especially during such a difficult time.

I understand we are all struggling at this time, but to have to worry about funeral expenses on top of still caring for Ashton’s teen siblings is too big a hardship to have to face alone. Especially with the family and friends we have in this world that just need to know and understand the struggle that no one should have to fight alone.
