Ashton is our sweet rescue cat who quickly became a beloved member of our family, especially to my daughter. He loves playing outside with his sister cats, exploring the backyard and soaking up the sunshine. Yesterday, something went wrong—Ashton came inside limping, clearly in pain. We rushed him to urgent care, where the vets discovered he had a broken left foot and a couple of puncture wounds. After initial treatment, Ashton has been referred to The Cove in Suffolk to see an orthopedic surgeon. The cost of surgery and recovery is overwhelming for us. Ashton is a shy, gentle soul who has brought so much joy to our home in the year we've had him. Seeing him hurt is heartbreaking, and we want to do everything we can to help him heal and get back to his playful self. We're also planning to build a special enclosure so Ashton and his sisters can still enjoy the outdoors safely.
