Help Us Build a Safe, Joyful Playground for Ashton Elementary

Ashton Elementary School is part of a small but mighty community nestled in the heart of Ashton, Idaho. For over 20 years, our playground has served generations of students—hosting games of tag, fueling imaginations, and offering a space for children to grow, explore, and connect. But time has taken its toll.

Today, our playground is worn, outdated, and no longer safe. It has broken and missing pieces, making playtime not just less fun, but increasingly hazardous. Our children deserve better. They deserve a safe, inclusive, and exciting place to be kids—a space where every slide and swing fuels joy, movement, and friendship.

Despite our efforts, the school district has chosen not to provide funding to replace the playground. So, we’re rolling up our sleeves and taking matters into our own hands—for our kids, our community, and their future.

And we’re not alone.
In true Ashton spirit, our students recently took action themselves by participating in a Penny War Fundraiser—and together, they raised an incredible $4,039.64 toward new playground equipment! Their excitement, teamwork, and commitment to this cause have inspired us all and shown just how much this new playground means to them.

But building a new playground isn’t easy—or cheap. Initial quotes we received were upwards of $300,000, and that would have only covered half the playground. We knew we had to do better for our kids.

Through hard work and determination, the Ashton Elementary PTP was able to partner with a local, licensed and certified business that has generously committed to install all the new playground equipment at more than half the cost. This partnership ensures that every donor dollar goes directly to the playground itself, rather than to inflated labor fees from big out-of-town companies that often triple their prices for school projects.

Your donation will make a real difference. It won’t be wasted—it will go straight toward giving our students the safe, fun, and inclusive playground they truly deserve.

And if we are blessed enough to exceed our fundraising goal? Extra funds will go to enhancing our current playground equipment plan or purchasing a digital sign for the school to help keep families and our community connected and informed.
