Hi! My name is Ashlyn Faulk. Some know me as Ash, others, such as my family, know me as Maddie.
In less than 10 days, I am moving to my very first apartment in Cookeville to be closer to Tennessee Tech, where I am currently a sophomore. If you know me, you know I am a double major in political science with a focus in legal studies and sociology with a focus in criminology/criminal justice. After I graduate, I intend to go to law school to earn my JD, and then go on to practice family/criminal law.
Since I am a double major, I am required to have 240 credit hours worth of classes to graduate. This means more time crunching, taking 5-6 classes a semester. Along with taking as many classes as I am, I am also trying to maintain my work life, personal life, social life, and also trying to afford this lifestyle that has become very expensive these days. I have a student loan I have to pay for along with expensive books and materials to purchase for classes. I also have to provide for myself since, as I mentioned before, I will be moving to my apartment in less than 10 days.
If you know me well enough, you would know that I am incredibly determined, hardworking, and I try to achieve anything I put my mind to. I am very blessed and privileged to be in my current position. I feel lucky to be able to get my post-secondary education, especially in a world where most people have the ability to reach further - they just can’t because of how expensive it is in today’s world.
My total goal is set at $850. If I were to reach that goal, the funds would be used towards my school expenses and buying the necessities I need before I move into my apartment.
With all of this being said, I am asking for your help to make this life possible for me and to help me reach further. No matter if it’s $1, or if you are generous enough to donate more than that, everything is appreciated and does not go unnoticed. Even if all you did was take the time to read this, thank you.
