If you know Ashlyn and Adam, you know that their dog Jax truly came first for them. He was Ashlyn’s first love long before she and Adam welcomed their beautiful newborn son, Carson, just a few weeks ago.

Jax is one of those dogs everyone falls in love with instantly. People always say he is the best dog. He is calm, gentle, well behaved, and happiest simply watching the world go by through a window. They even built a window bench at the perfect height in their front room because that is where he spends most of his day. He loves to swim, he is so incredibly chill, and he is endlessly patient with their other dog, Sally. The only time he ever gets riled up is when the Amazon driver shows up, which Adam secretly loves.

Right after bringing Carson home from the hospital, they noticed a small mass on Jax’s side. At first, they hoped it was something minor or even stress from the big life change, especially since Jax had not been eating much and had already lost 14 pounds over the last two months. But after multiple vet visits and tests, they received heartbreaking news. Jax has three masses located near his heart and trachea.

The next critical step is a CT scan, which will determine how severe the locations are and whether the masses can be biopsied. This scan costs 3,400 dollars and it is the only way to know what treatment options may be possible for Jax.

With Ashlyn at home caring for their newborn and not currently working, this unexpected emergency has placed a heavy financial burden on their family. Jax is their first baby, the one who has been with them through every chapter, and they want to give him every chance they can.
