I am a mother of three children, and recently we experienced a devastating setback. During a terrible storm, I lost my vehicle in a wreck after being turned away by hotel staff while trying to find a safe place for my family. Since losing our home last September, we've been in and out of hotels, doing our best to stay afloat. I work for Uber as a driver and delivery courier, but with no vehicle, I have no way to earn income or get my children to school and their mental health appointments. I suffer from PTSD and severe anxiety attacks, and the stress of this situation has been overwhelming. When the wreck happened, I instructed my children to get out and get help as I was trapped inside. We lost most of our clothes, shoes, and important documents along with the vehicle. Now, I have nothing—no way to provide a roof for my children or make ends meet. My children are currently staying with my disabled mom while I try to figure everything out. The funds raised will help us get another vehicle, replace essentials like birth certificates and social security cards, and give us a chance to regain stability. Mentally, I feel like I'm still in that water, unable to get out, but I know that with a little push, we can start over. This support will mean so much to me and my children, and we'll forever be grateful. All I've been thinking about is how our clothes smell like mildew and the current swept my shoes right off of my feet. Your kindness and generosity will help us rebuild and move forward. Thank you for considering our family in this difficult time.
