Missing Pieces
Hi, I'm not sure where to begin. Its not easy for me to ask others for things not to mention writing about my accident, its like I'm reliving it all over again.. I keep hoping this is a nightmare, a bad dream ill soon wake up from but unfortunately, its not.
. It all started the night of February 5th. I was on my way home but unfortunately never made it. How did my life come to this✨God give me strength. I woke up in the hospital not remembering a thing. I was told I was Hit by a car and landed on my jaw. I flew approximately 15feet up and 80 feet over.
Fun, loving, adventurous, giggly, hard working, take the shirt off my back for someone type of girl to broken pieces, emptiness, a mother with a broken heart and a little girl afraid of losing her mother.
Eating from a tube✨ 15 crushed bones in my face all in my jaw which is why 25 stitches are under my chin as well as a severed tongue in 5 pieces.✨ My whole jaw needs to be rebuilt while currently having 3 wires attached to help keep my jaw structure. ✨3 metal plates in my face with 14 screws. Did I Mention all the dental work I'll need done after needing 22 new teeth implanted in. :(How do you keep it together, how do you keep faith and not be angry when you've already been threw many experiences ((some more than usual)) been flooded with pain, things start falling into place then BAM! ✨✨
I was told I have an infection. I've taken 3 prescriptions of antibiotics which unfortunately didn't work. Starting from my two front bottom teeth all the way to the back on my lower right side the bone was removed and teeth. The same with the top but on my left side. The Oral surgeon thought that by removing the bone the infection would go away. Sadly it didn't and spread to my bone. I knew that in time that my jaw would need to be reconstructed but apparently the left side of my lower jaw bone is at bare minimum to wear my metal plates are shifting because they have no bone really to hold on to. The doctor wanted to wait until my mouth healed in order to do the surgery but due to circumstances with this infection and the plates shifting I need to now have this process start a a lot sooner than expected. The problem is because the infection is so bad he has to refer me to an infection and disease specialist which unfortunately where he wants to refer me they're not networked with my insurance because I only have medical and unfortunately they don't cover very much. I recently found out they have to remove bone from my fibula to put into my jaw as they take A vein and artery from my hip as well as a skin graph which would be taken from either of my buttocks or my thigh. I need to be put back to sleep to put a feeding tube back into my stomach that just got removed a few weeks ago only to find out it has to go back in because if I'm able to get this procedure done I won't be able to eat afterwards for a while. The driver that hit me only had a 15000 dollar insurance policy which is barely anything for what this procedure will cost. Medical bills, anesthesia, reconstructing my jaw, medication, and more not to mention the 22 teeth need to be replaced. The doctor is concerned of me losing my jaw.
I'm only 31 years old with so much more life to live and a little girl that needs her mom just as much as I need her. It's not only emotionally hard looking in the mirror as well as the physical part of feeling the pain but then having a little girl look at you crying saying she is afraid to lose her mom and she misses the way that she used to smile. I've always been an independent hard-working outgoing fun-loving girl. I've always done it on my own and don't ask people for anything but tonight as I write this I can't help but ask friends family acquaintances Neighbors the community anybody that will read this but somehow please find it in your heart even if it's a dollar would help me so I can get this procedure done and little by little with the grace of God get my life back. Even the smallest donation would help. Thank you all sincerely.
