Help Ashley Save Her Service Dog's Leg
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ashley Trowbridge. On Monday, November 11th, at about 5:30, my service dog got out of my backyard. I was at work at the time. By the time I got back, it was 6:30, and an hour had already passed. My roommates searched for that hour and an additional 3 hours when I arrived, together walking blocks, screaming his name to no avail.
The following evening, around noon, a Good Samaritan found him and called me and was bringing him to my place of work (which is a vet clinic). They informed me he had a cut on his nose and an injured leg. When he arrived, he was seen by a vet soon after, where he had blood work and X-rays. The vet informed me that he had a non-displaced fracture of his right radius and ulna on his front right leg. They highly recommend he undergo surgery that would cost $5,000, or risk a 70% chance of needing that leg to be amputated. But I am unable to pay for the surgery he needs, and I’m not sure where to go or who to turn to. He’s my service dog; I don’t know what I would do without him.
i spoke with my vet and my pup needs an internal surgery, where metal plates will be drilled into his bones to help the healing process. They don’t currently have the plates in stock needed to do his surgery, but are ordered and will be at my vet on November 20th. The surgery will happen on December 2nd! I can’t thank each and everyone of you guys enough!
I have fantastic news Cascade Animal is donating $1,000 towards Comet’s surgery, directly to Timber Ridge Animal Hospital! I could be more thankful!
