Hi Guys my Name is Ashley and this is my sweet boy Onyx. On June 26th we found out he has DRY-FIP. After a long few month Mr. Onyx had went back to the vet a week ago and was able to stop medication due to his blood work and CBC looking good. He is now in the observation stage for the FIP. It was such good news to hear. All the tears, shots, and long sleepless night paid off, so I thought.
Last night 9/28/24 at 10:30pm Onyx howled for me and I immediately knew something was wrong, I rushed out of the bathroom to find my other cats surrounding Onyx. He had fallen over on his side and began breathing so hard that he started foaming at the mouth and within seconds he lost complete control of both his bowels. I rushed him to the closest Emergency vet clinic and the ran X-ray's and ultrasounds. They found out he has a heart condition. He has been diagnosed with HCM. The vet said his left ventricle is extremely enlarged and that he needs to be seen by a cardiologist immediately. Last night visit alone was $1,000 :( money I truly did not have to spend. Onyx is on two medications for his heart. He's currently taking Furosemide-12.5mg every 12 hrs and Clopidogrel 75mg every 24hrs. As of now he's just been sleeping in his cage or in my lap. If anyone can share my story or donate even a $1 it will all add up! He didn't go through all this hard work for FIP to let another disease come in and take him. He's strong and with the right medications he can live a few more years. I am completely devastated and I want to do anything I can to try and save his life! I greatly appreciate any kind of help or any advice in getting my boy the help he needs!

I also forgot to mention that HCM is genetic and I have Onyx brother Raja as well. The vet wants to test him as well for HCM as he is high risk for having it. His test will cost $800. I want to save both my boys.
