Help Ashley recover from Covid complications
Donation protected
It’s not always easy to reach out and ask for help, but family is more important than pride. Thank you in advance for listening and for any support you can provide for our friend, everything counts.
The Back-Story
Ashley is a single-mom who has worked multiple jobs to support her family and put herself through nursing school. She has faced challenge after challenge, and worked very hard to create a fresh start after leaving an abusive relationship. She finished nursing school and found a great job with opportunity for growth. Being in patient care, she was a candidate for the Covid-19 vaccine- having worked with Covid patients, she knows the damage this virus can cause and wanted to protect herself and those around her. With several pre-existing conditions and allergies, getting the vaccine was a risk but not as big of a risk as potentially getting Covid.
Immediately after receiving the first vaccine she went into severe anaphylactic shock. She spent the last 3 weeks hospitalized, 9 of those days in intensive care. She has been out of work the entire time and during this time she was also evicted due to unforeseen circumstances. Her daughter is working full-time while also going to school full-time, and taking advanced placement classes.
She is now home from the hospital, unable to walk on her own, and will begin her journey to recovery. She will have physical therapy 3-days per week and is not able to work until she is cleared by the doctor. The estimated timing is unknown. Her benefits require her to pay for the medical services/supplies up front, and submit a request for reimbursement, which may or may not be approved.
How you can help
Any bit of financial support will be so much help. She is very proud and self-conscious. She knows though that her daughter’s security comes first and ability to pay bills is part of that.
How the money will be spent
$4,000- 2 months’ rent
$2,500- Physical Therapy (for 4 weeks)/medication copays/dr copays
$3,500- Bills/food coverage for time out of work.
