Help Ashley Recover from a Massive Heart Attack

A second chance at life, on June 10th, I Ashley Wilson was rushed to the hospital after experiencing major chest pains. It was later discovered I was having a massive heart attack at the age of 36. Doctors called it the "Widow Maker" due to the survival rate being so low.

I was rushed into emergency surgery with mild sedation leaving me alert and cognizant of what was transpiring. During the procedure blood clots were discovered in my heart, and it was determined that the lower left portion of my heart had died due to me having a heart attack for such a long period of time.

My procedure took triple the amount of time leaving my family fearful of the potential outcome. During my operation the amazing hospital staff at St Rose Dominican performed life saving measures when my heart completely stopped. I can recall the jolt and burning sensation I felt through my body when the paddles hit my chest. The doctors were eventually able to place a "ballon" in my heart to help with blood flow. I spent the next week in ICU with around the clock care and support from my family.

Eventually I was able to undergo another procedure where doctors were able to place a stent in my heart. I was advised that my life would forever be changed. I will be on daily medication, have to change my lifestyle, and have to closely monitor my heart as I now am prone to have another heart attack.

After two long grueling weeks I was released to the care of my family. Due to the severity of my heart attack it has left me unable to work at this time and with mounting medical bills.

I am forever grateful for my second chance at life and to the wonderful medical staff who made it all possible. At this time I am asking all of my friends and family to donate to help supplement my income while I continue my road to making a full recovery, and to help offset some of my medical bills.
