Hi, I’m Chelsea, Ashley’s sister-in-law. I’m organizing this fundraiser for Ashley and her family. All donations will go directly to Ashley and Jose through GoFundMe’s beneficiary system.
On Sunday night, 9/21/25, Ashley was rushed to the hospital after suddenly experiencing severe bleeding. Jose immediately called 911 and rushed her to the ER.
At the hospital, doctors discovered she was suffering from a placental abruption, and baby Honesti was showing no heart tones. Ashley was taken for an emergency C-section, and after delivery, the medical team performed 14 minutes of CPR to bring little Honesti back.
Since then, this brave baby girl has fought incredibly hard, receiving 10 units of blood, 8 units of platelets, 7 units of plasma, and undergoing numerous medications, MRIs, ultrasounds, and procedures during her recovery. She has since been transferred to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth for specialized care and evaluation by a full team of neonatal and neurological specialists.
While Ashley and Jose are staying strong for their daughter, the medical bills from the emergency surgery, NICU care, transfusions, and medications are weighing heavily on their young family. Ashley has insurance, but she will still face substantial out-of-pocket costs. She’s also recovering from surgery and will be off work for about 10 weeks, receiving only 60% of her normal pay as a nurse — most of which goes toward maintaining her insurance.
Through it all, their faith remains unwavering. They know that God still performs miracles, and they continue to speak life over Honesti, praying for a full recovery and the day she gets to go home with her family soon.
Please join us in lifting up Ashley, Jose, their three sons, and baby Honesti in prayer. Your support — whether through prayer, sharing this campaign, or giving — means more than words can express.
Every bit of encouragement, every dollar, and every prayer makes a difference.
Thank you for standing with this family as they believe for a miracle.
