Help Ashley Become a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant!

Please help Ashley finish school to get her Physical Therapy Assistant license! It’s been a long (and expensive) journey for her and everyone that has supported her efforts so far. Ever since she was a little girl, she dreamed of working in the medical field and has pursued her passion for helping others. She became the first person in our family to earn a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in 2021. She’s worked very hard with multiple jobs to pay for school and has stayed focused on her goal of getting licensed. She’s also worked at physical therapy clinics to gain hands-on experience, which has motivated her even more to learn everything she can about the profession she feels that God has chosen for her. Whether it’s helping patients fresh out of surgery, kids with a sports injury or individuals who have dealt with pain for multiple years, she loves helping them recover and get back to doing what they love. She knows in her heart that it’s what she’s meant to do and says it’s more rewarding than anyone can imagine. From being a shoulder to lean on, working with patients daily to achieve their recovery goals, and connecting with patients who have made an impact on her life, Ashley is committed to helping others return to doing what they love to do.
Here are some examples of the difference you can help Ashley make in the lives of others:
While working at Memorial Hermann, she worked with a man who was born without both legs. He is wheelchair bound for life, but he went to physical therapy for shoulder rehab due to a surgery he had. Despite his condition, he pushed himself each and every day and didn’t let obstacles get in his way. Hearing him say out loud “you can do it” brought chills. Seeing the strength and willpower he had to get through each session inspired Ashley each time she got the opportunity to work with him.
Also while working at Memorial Hermann, she got to work with a kid who was in elementary school whose favorite sport was football. He had a knee injury that put him on crutches. Throughout physical therapy, every time he achieved a new goal he would cry. The staff affectionately called them happy tears. Seeing someone so young be so excited to make progress confirmed for Ashley that she was in the right field. It wasn’t long before he was able to start jogging and do football drills in the clinic. Seeing the smile on his face each time was a glimpse of heaven.
Ashley is currently attending her second semester at Pima Medical Institute and has three more semesters to complete her training. Her goal is to graduate in September 2025 and work in a pediatric clinic. Any donation is greatly appreciated to help her pay for the remaining semesters. Ashley and her family are stretched thin financially to make this happen and have been reluctant to ask others for help, but we’ve reached the limit on loans and grants for her education.
Thank you for taking the time. We really appreciate your consideration and support!
