Dear friends, neighbors and community members,

The owners of our local (Bristol VT) yarn shop Hermit Thrush Fiber Company bring warmth, vibrancy, and a hubbub of community activity to our town. Ashley and Greyson are, to put it simply, salt-of-the-earth people.

They woke up on Tuesday morning and stepped out their front door only to discover that their one and only car had been stolen!

The timing on these things is never convenient. But Greyson just started a second job (teaching kids in the woods!) AND Ashley is running the shop 5 days a week. Thankfully they are catching rides and borrowing vehicles where they can. But this is not sustainable, especially as they are expecting to welcome a new baby sized family member in February!

Since the police believe they will not be able to retrieve the stolen car, and their insurance will not cover any of the costs of replacing it, they are forced starting from scratch. As small business owners this is no easy feat!

They have the option to buy a 2015 Subaru Outback for $5k. So your donation will help cover the cost of the car and the expenses related to getting it registered.
