I am writing this on behalf of my dear friend, Ashley Buckner, and it is incredibly difficult to put her story into words.
On August 1, 2024, Ashley unexpectedly lost her 39-year-old brother. Just three months later, tragedy struck again when she lost her 18-year-old son, her only child. Then, on December 19, 2025, a devastating fire tore through her apartment complex, destroying her home and everything she owned.
Losing her home was heartbreaking, but the greatest loss in the fire was her beloved cat and all of her son’s belongings, items she held onto as precious reminders of him. In a matter of months, Ashley has endured unimaginable loss, and she has now been left with absolutely nothing and must start over from scratch.
Ashley is also disabled Living on a very limited disability income makes it extremely difficult for her to afford the deposits, first and last month’s rent, and basic necessities needed to rebuild her life and replace what was lost.
This community has always been kind, compassionate, and known for taking care of its own. I know there are many families affected by this fire, and every loss matters. I am humbly asking that, if you are able, you consider opening your heart to help Ashley get back on her feet after an overwhelming series of tragedies.
Any amount, any share, and any act of kindness means more than words can express.
