I am reaching out on behalf of my cousin, Ashlee Davis, a devoted mother of three girls, and her family during an unexpected and overwhelming medical emergency.

Over the past several months, Ashlee has been experiencing severe and ongoing abdominal pain, resulting in multiple emergency room visits. A few weeks ago, doctors discovered a mass, and while further testing was pending, she and her family proceeded with a long-planned and already-paid-for cruise vacation, hoping for some rest and relief.

Unfortunately, while on the cruise, her pain returned intensely. She sought medical care from the ship’s medical team, who strongly advised her to immediately disembark and seek emergency treatment at a local hospital in Cozumel, Mexico. As a result, the cruise ship continued on without her, leaving Ashlee and her husband temporarily stranded while their three daughters and other family members remained onboard.

After several days and significant unexpected expenses, they were finally able to secure flights back to Texas, reunite with their family, and drive home to Oklahoma. During the trip, her condition worsened, requiring an emergency stop at a hospital in Ardmore, where she was admitted to the ICU and later life-flighted to OU Medical Center.

There, she underwent emergency surgery to remove the mass that had been causing her pain. She is currently recovering and awaiting biopsy results to confirm that the mass is non-cancerous.

Because of the international medical care, emergency transport, hospital stays, surgery, travel costs, and time missed from work, Ashlee and her husband are now facing overwhelming medical bills and financial strain. Both are currently unable to work, and they are struggling to keep up with basic living expenses while caring for their three girls.
