Ashlee is a devoted mother whose greatest joy in life is caring for her daughters. Her role as a mother drives her to stay strong, but she is now facing one of the most frightening battles of her life.
She has been living with Graves’ Disease, a condition that has recently taken a devastating turn. Her eye has dislocated from its socket twice, forcing her to undergo an emergency temporary tarsorrhaphy to protect it. Despite these measures, she is now at serious risk of losing her vision.
The only treatment that can help preserve her sight is orbital decompression surgery, one of the most complex eye procedures. While it is technically available in Jamaica, very few surgeons perform it, and limited experience greatly increases the risks of complications. In the United States, however, Ashlee can receive care from a highly skilled specialist with expertise in treating autoimmune orbital disease — giving her the best chance to protect her vision and avoid life-altering complications.
This fundraiser has been created to help Ashlee cover the costs of travel, surgery, and related medical care. Every contribution brings her closer to receiving this life-changing treatment and allows her to continue being there for her daughters.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity in supporting Ashlee on this journey.
