Orting School District #344, friends and family in Montana, Utah and fellow Orting, Washington community. We are asking for your support, donations, thoughts and prayers for our very own, Ashlee Ivie.
Ashlee Ivie works for Orting School District serving and supporting all of our children as our K-12, our Multi Tier System of Supports coodinator aka "MTSS coodinator". Ashlee plays a virtal role in the district and is well liked by the children, peers and fellow teachers, in all four schools.
Ashlee has recently been diagnosed with an agressive form of breast cancer. After nearly 2 years of reassurance and antibiotics from her physicians, Ashlee received a diagnosis of ER+ breast cancer just days before Christmas. A devasting realization for anyone, especially during what is normally the happiest time of the year. Ashlee has been though a lot in the past month, and could really use our support.
While facing the fight of her life, she also has the challenge of preserving her fertility - if she hopes to have a family when the battle has been won. Her cancer is aggressive and requires chemotherapy starting this week. This hopeful cure is toxic to her ovaries and will most likely render her sterile. Ashlee and her husband, Shaun, hoped for a positive pregnancy test each month for over a year, but now have a cancer threatening the family they have only hoped for.
Any donations made would go towards covering her treatment costs, preserving her fertility, and basic living expenses while she is recovering throughout her treatment.
