Hello!

My name is Ashlee. I’m currently a high school senior in a small, rural town in Oregon preparing to be the first person in my family to attend and graduate from college. I have been accepted to Willamette University and have received a $45,000/year scholarship. Willamette University tuition, room & board, fees, textbooks, transportation, and personal expenses comes to roughly $67,600/year. I have already secured $61,300 of this total through a variety of scholarships, a small loan, and my savings from my part-time job. However, this still leaves me with $6,300 needed for this upcoming year.

To become a licensed pharmacist, first, I need to get my undergraduate degree. I will major in Chemistry with a double minor in Public Health and Spanish (I want to be bilingual so that I can better serve the community in Oregon). Willamette University is uniquely capable of setting me up for the future I envision, which is immensely exciting!

I have worked hard and will continue to do so; I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my entire academic career and have taken a multitude of Honors, AP, and College Now courses, while still staying involved in volunteer work, extracurriculars, and tutoring. I am a Youth Facilitator in an international youth mental health program. I have applied for dozens of scholarships and work part-time as a clerk at my local pharmacy.

I realize that no one truly reaches their goals alone, and I can’t either. I need help. Asking for help might be the hardest thing I’ve had to learn this year.
