A Young Life, A Rare Cancer, and a Plea for Time — Help Ashish Shukla Fight Synovial Sarcoma

Hi,

My name is Vikrant Yadav, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart for someone who means the world to me — my dearest friend, Ashish Shukla. Ashish is just 30 years old. He’s a son, a husband, a caregiver, and a kind soul who spent his life helping others. Today, he needs all of us to help him.

Ashish is fighting Stage IV Synovial Sarcoma, a rare, aggressive cancer that has spread to his lungs, abdomen, muscles, and bones. Doctors have told us the harsh truth — his time may be limited. But we still have a chance to give him more time, more life, more love.

‍⚕️ A Life Spent Healing Others
Ashish worked as a pharmacist at Delhi’s Mohalla Clinic, where he served patients in underprivileged communities. Every day, he dispensed medication, comforted the sick, and made sure people who couldn’t afford care still got treated with dignity.
He never said no to anyone who needed help. He never asked for anything in return. Now he’s the one in need — and he’s still not asking. But I am — for him.

When Pain Changed Everything
In 2023, Ashish was living a normal, happy life. He had just gotten married, and he and his wife were planning their future together. Then, without warning, came a pain so intense in his left side he could barely stand. That unbearable left flank pain led to a shocking diagnosis: a tumor in his left kidney — confirmed to be Synovial Sarcoma.
He had to undergo radical surgery, removing the kidney and surrounding tissue. But that was only the beginning.

18 Rounds of Chemotherapy — And Still Fighting
Ashish has since endured 18 rounds of chemotherapy — each one more brutal than the last. Every cycle drained his strength. Every visit to the hospital meant more fatigue, more nausea, more loss.
His weight dropped from a healthy 76 kg (167 lbs) to a fragile 48 kg (106 lbs). But no matter how weak his body became, he never gave up. He smiled through the pain, told his family he was okay, and kept fighting.

His Wife Never Let Go
Ashish has been married for just over two years. His wife — his partner, his constant — has never once left his side. She has carried him through the darkest nights, slept beside his hospital bed, helped him walk when he couldn’t stand, and stayed strong even when everything around them was falling apart.
They didn’t imagine this would be their story. But together, they are writing a new one: a love story of resilience, courage, and unshakable faith.

⚠️ A Disease That Won’t Stop
After initial chemo and radiation, a scan in early 2024 gave them a brief moment of hope — no evidence of active disease. But it came back. Harder. Faster. Everywhere.
• His lungs filled with nodular lesions
• Tumors appeared in his abdomen and pelvis
• Cancer spread to his muscles and bones
• He developed a collapsed lung (pneumothorax)

Now even simple things — breathing, eating, sitting — cause pain. But he continues to fight.

They’ve Spent Everything — Now We Need Help
Ashish’s family has done everything humanly possible. They’ve exhausted their savings, insurance, and taken loans. They're trying to consult doctors internationally, but money is now the only barrier between Ashish and the possibility of longer life.

What We’re Asking For:
We’re trying to raise $100,000 (₹83 lakhs) to fund:
• Continued treatment, including targeted therapy and immunotherapy
• Second opinions and clinical trials abroad
• PET scans, medications, hospitalization, and supportive care
• Nutritional help, emergency care for lung issues, and palliative support
Every single rupee and dollar will go directly to Ashish’s treatment.

Why It Matters
Ashish may have limited time, but time is everything. More time means:
• More days with his wife
• More hugs from his parents
• A chance to leave behind hope instead of heartbreak
• A chance to simply breathe, laugh, and feel human again
He doesn’t want to give up. We won’t either. But we can’t do this alone.

❤️ How You Can Help
1. Donate anything — even ₹100 or $5 makes a difference.
2. Share this story with everyone you know.
3. Pray, send strength, or leave a message of love.

Together, we can give Ashish more than just medicine — we can give him moments. And for someone whose time is running short, moments are everything.
