My name is Ashjan. I am one of thousands of displaced person from the north of Gaza now living in Deir al-Balah in the south. I am reaching out to you (as many are reaching out as this is our only way to survive with the collapse of our financial institutions) with a heavy heart on behalf of my family, who are enduring unimaginable hardships amid the ongoing conflict in our hometown, Gaza City. This is something the whole world knows and sees. As the violence escalates and the situation worsens, we are in desperate need of finding refuge and safety outside the Gaza Strip.
We have launched a campaign in the hopes that we can get the global support, to escape the horrors of war and find a place where we can rebuild our lives. I stand here on the brink of collapse, having lost my home—the home where I spent my childhood, my youth, and the most joyful moments of my life. It is now gone. I have also lost my university, my education, and the dream I had cherished since childhood. I have lost the dream my parents had of seeing me in my graduation gown and witnessing my achievements. Unfortunately, these dreams have been shattered.
I am reaching out to ask for your support. Your contributions will be used to cover the costs of our travel, to find a home for my family, and to replace the laptop I lost in the war.
