Help Asher's Family Through This Crisis

Today, our sweet Asher, Kaden and Jess’s two-year-old son, faced a terrifying medical emergency.

Asher was playing outside, enjoying the beautiful weather, when he suddenly began vomiting. Not long after, he started acting unusually quiet and distant, staring off and not responding like his normal self. Moments later, Asher began experiencing a seizure with repetitive shaking.

911 was immediately called, but unfortunately, there was no answer. After waiting three minutes with no response, Kaden and Jess made the quick decision to drive Asher to the local emergency department, just eight minutes away.

Once they arrived, Asher continued to have multiple seizures back-to-back. The medical team worked urgently to stop the seizures but struggled. Due to a large amount of secretions in his airway, the team made the difficult decision to intubate Asher and place him on a ventilator.

With multiple medications running to stabilize him, a CT scan was performed, revealing a mass in Asher’s brain. The local hospital didn’t have the resources to manage such a critical case and arranged for Asher to be flown to Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. Unfortunately, weather and logistics prevented the flight, and a critical care team transported him by ground ambulance instead.

Asher has just arrived at the Children’s Hospital, where he is receiving specialized care. We are still waiting for answers, and we don’t yet know what the next few days will hold.

Kaden and Jess are currently in Buffalo by Asher’s side. They don’t know when they’ll be able to return to work as they focus on being there for their son. Between travel, meals, lodging, lost income, and unexpected expenses, the financial burden is growing fast.
