My cat (big boy) Asher, recently faced a medical emergency where he contracted a UTI, which quickly led to a urine blockage and struvite crystals in his bladder. I rushed him to the ER, but could only afford a simple flush and go. I took off work to monitor him closely and brought him to his vet for a check-up the same day. He seemed to be recovering, eating his new diet and drinking water, but unfortunately, later that night he re-blocked. I had to bring him back to the ER and took out a loan to continue with the full procedure, including a 48-hour stay. In the middle of the night, I received a call with news that they also found kidney stones, and he will need a cystotomy.
I’m already in an uncomfortable place financially, paying off other debts, and never expected to be in this position. I have always been able to afford Asher’s bills, but this was so unexpected and came at a time in my life when things were already challenging. The funds raised will cover the procedure to flush the blocked urine and crystals, his medical stay at the ER, his new surgery for the kidney stones, and any follow-up visits with his vet. I can cover his medications moving forward, but the costs for these urgent treatments are overwhelming.
Asher is my world. I hear stories of how people found their cats in tough times and how their pets helped them get through, but with Asher, I got him during a good time in my life, a time I felt confidence and change. He’s a symbol of growth and perseverance for me. He feels like a son, and I love him dearly. Anyone who meets him can see how incredibly special (and handsome) he is. Every penny would mean so much to me and my big boy Asher. Thank you for considering a donation and for helping us through this difficult time.
