Hi everyone! My name is Asher, as many of you know me by Ash or Ashe. I'm a 25-year-old transman who is looking to finally get a life-changing surgery aka top surgery! Hurray! Sadly, though, I need all the help I can possibly get ASAP.

I was expecting to have insurance cover most of the costs of my surgery, but unfortunately, I had been previously told incorrect information about my insurance plan. Therefore, there is a large unexpected cost for my surgery that I had not planned for.

For those of you who aren't familiar with top surgery for transmen, here is a brief explanation of the procedure according to topsurgery.net: "FTM Top Surgery is a gender-affirming procedure for transgender men and non-binary individuals that creates a masculine chest. Top Surgery involves breast removal (Subcutaneous Mastectomy) and male chest contouring, and may also include free nipple grafts, or nipple/areola resizing and repositioning."

I have a deductible of $5,500 to cover in order to have insurance take care of the rest -- which we all know is a lot of money normally, especially when the surgery date is in April 2020! I would also need this money to help fund me while being off of work since I have no more PTO left for this year.

With the generous donations from you all, it'll help me through an incredibly important time of my life. If I'm able to fund this surgery, I'll be able to go forth in my gender transition journey and change my life forever.
