Help Asheley Wayne’s Fight against Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
Blessings come in so many ways; one of my favorite blessings is my best friend, Asheley.
In June of 2024, my best friend Asheley (age 31) was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Asheley was pregnant at the time with her second child, Mason Wayne. During her third trimester, an offhand ultrasound was done due to some rising concerns; at this time, they found a mass on her ovaries. She was referred to UNC Health where she met with OBGYN and Oncology specialists surrounding her high risk pregnancy and possible cancer.
On June 10, little Mason was born over a month before his due date via C-section. After the c-section, Ash was taken into the operating room so the specialists could see what they could do regarding the mass. Tests were done, samples were sent and Ash had a confirmed diagnosis of Stage IV rare, low-grade ovarian cancer.
At the end of July, Asheley returned for an extensive surgery with the goal of removing all of the cancer, which did involve the removal of multiple organ systems. Starting in September, she will also be undergoing multiple rounds of IV chemotherapy.
Through this overwhelming diagnosis, Asheley and her husband, Anthony, have remained positive. Her mind continues to rest on her two babies, Liam and Mason. Asheley is a wonderful mother, always worried about her children despite her own personal circumstances. She also continues to stay focused on the Lord through this battle.
The biggest assistance for my best friend and her beautiful little family would come through your prayers and your financial donations. Our biggest prayer request right now is the healing of Asheley’s body from all cancer and strength for both her and Anthony through this dark and emotional time.
