Help Asheesh and Family Through This Tough Journey
Donation protected
This update comes with a lot of sadness and a heavy heart. Asheesh passed away on 26th April 2025 morning. He was a fighter and fought till the end. He will always be an inspiration to many of us. He will be tremendously missed and will always be in our hearts. Shruti thanks each and everyone of you for all the support you all have given her and her family in the past few months. She is so grateful! At this time, we are not asking for money but asking to continue to pray for Shruti and her daughters for all the strength they will need during this difficult time.

Hi Friends, I am Val Fernandes creating this fundraiser for my best friend, Asheesh Vashishtha. Asheesh arrived to USA back in 2012 and currently lives in Franklin, TN, with his wife Shruti and two daughters (16 years and 10 years old). He is the most loving and extremely funny person I know. He has always been the life of every party. This all came to a halt in September 2022. Asheesh was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumor, on 1st September 2022. Since then, their life has not been the same. Being treated at Vanderbilt, he underwent radiation and multiple chemo rounds over the last 2 years. Unfortunately, the MRI on 13th August 2024 showed a significant increase in tumor. He was told by his Vanderbilt doctor, his best option is a trial/treatment that is happening at UCLA in Los Angeles as it is not available at Vanderbilt. Asheesh and his wife traveled to LA two weeks ago to schedule the treatment. His brain surgery is scheduled for 10th September at UCLA, LA. His most recent MRI on 6th September has shown more growth, and this may lead to a longer recovery period.
After the brain surgery, Asheesh will be in the ICU for a few days, and depending on his recovery, he will be moved to additional hospitalization and then rehabilitation, expected duration is 2-3 months or more. While most of the medical expenses are covered, there are still many expenses that this family will endure, like post-insurance medical expenses, travel expenses to LA, staying in LA for months, and managing all the expenses back home in Franklin as the daughters are here with their grandparents. Shruti's parents have come from India to USA last week to take care of their daughters.
This illness has caused tremendous pressure and stress on his immediate family. If you are able to help, please do. With all of us working together, we can do something to relieve them of any financial stress. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lots of prayers for the family! Being apart is also hard, so prayers are appreciated!
All donations will be transferred directly to them.
