My name is Ashara, and I’m a single mom to a one-year-old and a full-time college student. My sister recently passed away from sickle cell disease, and my family is preparing to bury her next to our mother in Mississippi, who we lost less than two years ago. It’s been an incredibly difficult time for all of us, and I want so much to be there with my family to honor my sister’s memory and support my loved ones.

As a single mom, I simply can’t afford to travel to Mississippi right now. The funds raised will help cover the cost of flights or bus tickets for me and my son, as well as transportation while we’re there. My family has already paid for the funeral, and I don’t want to ask them for more help when they’ve done so much already.
