Asha is my 15-month-old Boxer/Pit mix, and she’s been a joyful companion to both me and my five-year-old chocolate lab, Sammy. From the moment I adopted her, Asha has been full of energy—always running, playing, and making friends at the dog park. She’s truly become a beloved part of our family.

Recently, Asha’s playful spirit changed. She started slowing down, showing signs of lethargy and weakness, and then developed a dangerously high fever. After rushing her to the vet, she was hospitalized for several days while the doctors ran every test they could think of. When no answers came, we were referred to a specialist who performed even more tests, including an ultrasound and a biopsy to rule out cancer—a real concern for boxers. Thankfully, cancer was ruled out, but the cause of her illness remained a mystery. They refer to this type of illness as FUO (fever of unknown origin) and it is quite frustrating to not know what it was. After nearly two weeks of searching for answers and treating her with medication, Asha’s fever finally broke. She’s still on medication but is back to her active, loving self.

The cost of Asha’s care has been overwhelming, with veterinary bills from her hospital stay, specialist visits, and ongoing medication. I’m hoping to raise enough to help pay off a portion of these expenses and to assist with any future vet bills if needed. Any support for Asha’s recovery and ongoing care would mean the world to us.
