My name is Yisela and our 3 year old frenchie Ash needs emergency spinal surgery. On Tuesday night our little Ash started showing signs of illness, not certain what was wrong we took him to the Vet Wednesday where they diagnosed him with Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). We went home hopeful. He was stable and able to walk although slowly. Unfortunately today he declined rapidly. He lost all sensation in both hind legs and developed a fever of 103.5. I rushed him to the ER where they put him on oxygen and gave him a sedative because he was panting so much from the pain and stress he had overheated. The doctor said Ash needed emergency surgery and we needed to transport him to Schearzman Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. When we arrived he had a seizure and was rushed in. As I type he is being prepared for the surgery. Any pet parent knows what our fur babies mean to us so when the doctor said he needed emergency spinal surgery my immediate response was YES but as most pet parents also know these type of medical procedures are incredibly expensive. For that reason we are asking for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference to our family.
