Greetings to our friends, family, and extended community!

I'm starting this fundraiser to support three of the most stellar people I know. Asen James, Rich Williams, and Spencer Blake have been hard at work transforming a raw, corner space in Bed-Stuy into a beautiful vinyl listening bar that will serve cocktails, mocktails, coffee, and tea, as well as small bites. They are building DEEP DIVE from the ground up, with their own six hands — pouring their love, sweat, and tears into creating a warm and welcoming third space...a place "where everybody knows your name." DEEP DIVE will host important community conversations, live music, film screenings, book readings, and skill shares. Having this space in our neighborhood will support our community by nourishing the deep web of relationships we need now more than ever.

Some of you have already experienced key elements they are bringing to DEEP DIVE. Remember the magic of the Cloud in the Stuy, the speakeasy Asen created that helped define Brooklyn culture in the early aughts? Or the always smooth, never predictable deejay sets by Asen and Spencer (SPASE) at Soul in the Horn, BERGN, Night Moves, Bar Meridian, Eavesdrop, or Mr. Melo? Ever caught one of Rich's rare and special guest sets? If so, you already know the vibe!

The fellas have been working around the clock building, painting, sanding, crunching numbers, and doing all the things that go into launching a small business. As deejays who are obsessed with the quality of sound, they have built a DOPE sound system. With that, they just need a little help getting to the finish line.
