Hi everyone.
I'm Matt.
I hate having to do this, but it's for something incredibly important.
My poor wife received the news no one wants to ever receive - her mom, Kyoko, was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer. What started as colon cancer, metastisized to her liver & lungs. Though she's been on chemo for over a year, at this point, it's palliative care. There are no more treatment options.
Her mom was hospitalized this weekend with intestinal bleeding. While it isn't the worst news, it's the kind of news you don't want to receive when you live 7,000mi away.
Due to visa restrictions, Asami's brother cannot leave the US, and so her dad is by himself caring for mom.
We desperately want Asami and the kids to go spend time with Kyoko and help.
Unfortunately, this flight and associated expenses to help are crippling.
I ask, please, if you're of means, help my wife and kids go spend time with Kyoko in this moment of need for care, healing, building memories.
I would never do this if we weren't desperate - completely out of options. Unknowing this was coming, I just paid our taxes. We are desperate.
Thank you,
Matt
