My name is Shayda & I’m Asal’s mom. She’s the reason I’m starting the GoFundMe page again! Yes, again, because the first time we met in the north of Iran almost 9 years ago, I had to get help through GoFundMe in order to help more animals that I came across. She was the reason I continued for five years in Iran. Unfortunately, it got harder & harder to stay there & eventually I had to plan my return to the USA about four years ago. I managed to bring this beautiful girl & two cats, whom, by the way, she rescued in Iran with a lot of difficulties. But we did it & even here in the USA, for the first year & a half, we had to move six times from one place to another until we eventually got our own little place in Santa Monica.
She was 2-3 years old when I found her first pregnant & scared, hiding under the cars back in Iran. Now she is about 12 & those 2 cats are also here & 8 years old. We were managing so far, living in a low-income senior housing with only my social security & amazingly, with the Grace of God, so far our basic needs were met.
Until last May, when I noticed the little lump on her neck. Long story short, seeing different veterinarians & trying to find the best solution, the lump got bigger & bigger & seven months later it’s huge & they think it’s Sarcoma & she needs a surgery soon.
I have to come up with at least $2,600, which my beautiful & kind cousin already sent me $1,500 of it. Now I’m still short $1,100. The surgery will be on January 5th & I’m hoping I can raise the remainder, God willing, by then.
I’m attaching the two different estimates for you to see. I’m going with the less expensive one, of course.
I have also attached some old photos of the time in Iran with GoFundMe when on the main cover picture, it’s actually Asal herself & her puppies. We came a long way & she’s been a great soul accompanying me through ups & downs these nine years in Iran & here. I just want her to have a good quality life of what’s left of her natural life & really appreciate anyone who can help us & also thank you GoFundMe for the wonderful & amazing experiences I’ve shared with these animals, especially in Iran when it was so much more difficult to deal with than here.
I also added some of the other pages/photos with different animals in Iran 8-9 years ago, helped by the GoFundMe page.
Thank you all who helped before & hopefully again now.
Blessings, always
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year ❤️
