My name is Asad. I am 35 years old and I am writing from Gaza, where my family is struggling to survive in unbearable conditions.

I live in a tent in Mawasi, Khan Yunis, with my wife Randa, our toddler Mohammed, my mother Suhaila, and my father Yahya. We lived in Rafah before our home was destroyed and we were forced to evacuate. We have very little clean water or safe food. We often have nothing to eat but scraps which makes us sick.

Now it is very cold. Our mattress is drenched from the rain and our tent fell apart in the wind. We don't have enough warm clothes. My wife Randa is pregnant. My father, Yahya, had head surgery months before the war and needs medical care. My mother, Suhaila, has diabetes. We are only asking for a chance to survive, for my wife to have a healthy pregnancy and to care for our child. Food, medicine and shelter are all very expensive. Please help us if you can.

أعيش في خيمة في مواسي، خان يونس، مع زوجتي راندا وطفلنا الصغير محمد وأمي سهيلة وأبي يحيى. كنا نعيش في رفح قبل أن يتم تدمير منزلنا ونضطر إلى إخلائه. لدينا القليل جداً من المياه النظيفة أو الطعام الآمن. غالباً ما لا نجد ما نأكله سوى بقايا الطعام التي تسبب لنا المرض.

الطقس الآن شديد البرودة. فراشنا مبلل من المطر وخيمتنا تهدمت بسبب الرياح. ليس لدينا ما يكفي من الملابس الدافئة. زوجتي راندا حامل. أبي يحيى خضع لعملية جراحية في الرأس قبل أشهر من الحرب ويحتاج إلى رعاية طبية. أمي سهيلة مصابة بداء السكري. نحن نطلب فقط فرصة للبقاء على قيد الحياة، ولزوجتي أن تحظى بحمل صحي وأن نعتني بطفلنا. الطعام والدواء والمأوى كلها أشياء باهظة الثمن. أرجوكم ساعدونا إن استطعتم.
