On Saturday night our beloved dog Arza began fighting for her life. Arza is more than a dog to us, but a true companion and protector. As a young couple stationed overseas, we have been through many challenging and lonely times, through all of which Arza has been by our side. While my husband has been away training for the US Army, Arza was truly my only friend, my support system, and my love. Arza’s third birthday is February 28th, and we were looking forward to celebrating the incredible dog and soul that she is. Last week in the middle of the night, Arza was sleeping peacefully when she abruptly got up and the spiral of events began. She began throwing up, lost consciousness, stopped breathing, and bleeding out of her hind end. After an immensely terrifying car ride, we made it to the closest emergency animal hospital. Arza has now been at the hospital for 4 nights. She has had multiple infusions, x-rays, ultrasounds, bloodwork, and been put on numerous medications. The main causes for concern are internal bleeding, intestinal swelling, and a gallbladder which is three times the normal size and filled with fluids. Surgery for the gallbladder is incredibly risky, and we have yet to find answers as to what may have caused our healthy, young, baby girl to flat line as quickly as she did. We have pet insurance, but unfortunately that will only help us with the first two days of care that Arza received and the rest of the bills and future bills have put a financial burden over us. With many medical bills, a potential surgery, and a long medical journey ahead for a dog that we love so deeply, we are asking our family, friends, and others with an animal that they love deeply to consider donating. We are so endlessly grateful to any contributions, and praying for our girl to get better and spread the love and happiness that she always does. Arza has so much more life to live, and people to meet back at home. If you are unable to donate, we would more than appreciate your prayers. God bless you all.
