Hey! I'm Aryana León, a music artist and creative based in Seattle. I'm working on The Pleasure Project, a four-part visual EP centered on a queer love story. Guided by the ethos “Pleasure is protest,” the project echoes themes found in the work of Black, queer, feminist author Adrienne Maree Brown, particularly her book Pleasure Activism, which frames pleasure as a pathway to liberation and community care.
I think we can all agree, things feel heavy and sometimes bleak. With this project, my hope is to carve out a space of light in the darkness, offering people moments of joy and hope.
Belief in The Pleasure Project is building, and our team continues to grow. We’ve already secured $5,500 through grants and individual donors, but additional funding will ensure we can fairly compensate our collaborators and bring this story fully to life.
This is a BIPOC, queer, and female-led production: I serve as the producer, creative director, and performing artist, working alongside a team of 13 creatives—10 of whom are women or nonbinary.
The project will culminate in a free screening event in Seattle and of course, you're invited!
Thank you in advance for your support and for helping us bring this vision to life.
