Arwin is undergoing surgery to heal injuries sustained while in the line of duty. He has given 6 years protecting his team, detecting weapons, and going first into many of the most dangerous situations officers respond to.

Arwin's abilities, intelligence, and drive have made him stand out from all other canine's in the region. Arwin has regularly competed and won at Police Canine field trial competitions around northern California. Arwin was awarded "Top Dog" by the Western States Police Canine Association after the accumulation of scores of all the police canine field trials of 2025.

Arwin has also been recognized as a favorite amongst officers and deputies who work the Regional Sideshow Enforcement Taskforce (RESET). During these taskforce operations, Arwin repeatedly went into areas where suspects had concealed themselves which were too dangerous for officers. Arwin had such success and was utilized so extensively that all of RESET received a reputation around the use of police canines.

Due to the severity of his injuries, he was retired immediately and therefore his handler is paying for all of the surgery expenses on his own. Many have worked with Arwin and Travis and have seen their teamwork and drive to keep others safe. Arwin deserves a long and healthy retirement, and Travis deserves to keep his partner and friend of the last 6 years.
